Cloud 3.0

The future of cloud computing is serverless, empowering enterprise, government, and Web3 applicationsA truly autonomous cloud is one that is not controlled by any single company or entity, but is public and decentralized, much like the internet itself. Now, imagine a blockchain protocol that enables an autonomous serverless cloud capable of hosting both data and logic—where software is tamperproof, unstoppable, and can scale horizontally, handling file transfers, bureaucracy, and processing HTTP requests seamlessly. This is a cloud where you can build sovereign systems and services that require no firewalls for protection...

Legacy technology stacks, bureaucratic processes, rising development and management costs, and missed business opportunities are just a few of the obstacles that hinder technology startups, institutions, and companies from innovating and staying ahead in the competitive landscape. We aim to solve these long-standing issues by building on a serverless cloud powered by an advanced public network, where everything comes together seamlessly.

Why build on the BigFile?

Serverless Computing

Enterprises and Web3 projects seeking serverless architectures to enable rapid and agile development cycles while reducing infrastructure maintenance and operational costs can rely on BigFile, a decentralized blockchain protocol.

The BigFile programming model is similar to that of serverless clouds, allowing applications to be written in common languages such as Rust or Python. However, it is simpler, as state is maintained automatically without requiring developer intervention—a significant advancement in the field.

Manage platform risk

Large-scale software systems that rely on centralized cloud providers are subject to vendor lock-in, which can lead to increasing server costs or necessitate codebase refactoring.

BigFile offers an alternative technology stack that is open and decentralized. Independently owned and operated "node machines," installed in data centers around the world, are connected by advanced network protocols to form a seamless, serverless cloud that is stateful, tamperproof, unstoppable, autonomous, and sovereign—capable of supporting any system. Its software, known as cube smart contracts, is compiled to WebAssembly, the new Web3 industry standard for cross-platform, language-agnostic, portable server executable code.

This is an open cloud where you can build sovereign enterprise infrastructure—just like the internet—without a corporate owner who can make arbitrary updates, introduce backdoors, or implement kill switches.

Kill security costs & risks

The BigFile hosts tamperproof and unstoppable software systems and services that don't require protection from firewalls, SIEM logging, or other traditional cybersecurity frameworks.

Simply put, the BigFile has no backdoors for hackers to exploit, and hosted software or data cannot be attacked by viruses or ransomware. This is because it is a virtual platform created by advanced mathematics—fault-tolerant network protocols and cryptography developed by world-class cryptographers, engineers, and computer scientists, with hundreds of person-years of effort behind the project.

How the BigFile is designed

Built-in digital identity

There's no need to build proprietary identity solutions or rely on for-profit companies to keep user data safe and private. BIG ID is a privacy-enhancing authentication framework native to BigFile. Following W3C open standards, BIG ID uses secure passkeys and WebAuthn, which can be seamlessly integrated with any service running on BigFile. Zero-knowledge proofs enable users to privately share sensitive data.

Tokenized business models

From loyalty programs and memberships to ticketing, bureaucratic processes, car rentals or sales, real estate transactions, and title deeds, businesses and institutions must effectively manage customer and citizen relationships to succeed. BigFile provides a unified digital wallet that simplifies the management of digital assets and identities.

Organizations can leverage BigFile's built-in token-based voting tools to effectively involve users in the product development lifecycle and actively encourage their participation.

Extending existing software with blockchain capabilities

BigFile smart contracts can both handle and generate HTTP requests, enabling them to host full web applications, enterprise solutions, and bureaucratic process networks on the blockchain. They can also make direct calls to the APIs of any online service running in traditional cloud environments or elsewhere. This offers businesses, institutions, and individuals the option to enhance their existing software with blockchain capabilities, rather than having to build all their operations from scratch on the blockchain.

Applications of autonomous cloud
